Djurgården
Djurgården is a tranquil island known for the Vasa Museum, Skansen open-air museum, ABBA: The Museum, Waldemarsudde with Prins Eugene’s Art Gallery and an array of other museums and cafe’s. You can take the tram from T-Centralen or a ferry from Gamla Stan/Slussen. Ferries dock next to Gröna Lund amusement park, known for its thrill rides and summer concerts.
The Vasa Museum
The Vasa Museum is one of Scandinavia’s most visited museums. It is here that you will find in all its glory, the unique and well preserved warship Vasa from 1628, embellished with hundreds of wooden sculptures.
Skansen
Skansen is Sweden’s – and the world’s – oldest open-air museum, bringing together cultural history, nature and animals in one place. Visitors can explore historic buildings and environments from different parts of Sweden, showing how people lived and worked through the centuries. The park is also home to Nordic wild animals such as moose, bears and seals, as well as traditional Swedish domestic breeds that reflect the country’s agricultural heritage. Rosendal’s Garden
Rosendal is a market garden with vegetable plots, greenhouses, a rose garden, an orchard, flower beds, compost areas and a vineyard. The site also includes a playground, an educational garden for children, a bakery, a plant shop, a farm shop and a café.
